In undertaking software process improvement initiatives, one of the requirements is the creation and institutionalization of software development and procedures in the organization. The Competency Development Exercise is meant to assist participants in drafting the list of skills needed to be acquired in order for each process area to be developed in the organization. It can also be used in the future in assessing skills needed by one personnel to be able to competently perform a process area and in determining their capability as well.

JANETTE TORAL

Janette Toral is an international resource person. She created awareness about the Capability Maturity Model and Capability Maturity Model Integrated since 2001 that lead to the national government's priority work areas for 2003. She also brought the first SEI Authorized public training for both CMM and CMMI in the Philippines in partnership with SEI authorized providers and organizer of the Philippine Software Process Improvement Network (PH-SPIN) and an advocate of CMMI (http://www.cmmiphilippines.com).

She has been conducting CMMI related workshops since 2002 and trained more than 150 companies nationwide on Software Process Improvement.
